Norwich, CT – Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative Board Approves Jewett City Department of Public Utilities’ Loan to the Griswold School System for Energy Efficiency

 

The CMEEC Board of Directors at its April 23, 2020 Board of Director’s meeting approved a request by the Jewett City Department of Public Utilities to use reserve funds to provide a low-interest loan to the Griswold school system for a LED lighting retrofit project for its elementary school.  Ken Sullivan, General Manager of the Jewett City Department of Public Utilities, commented that, “It is Jewett City Department of Public Utilities pleasure to be able to provide this loan to the Griswold Board of Education for their energy efficiency measures. It is projected to save the Griswold school system approximately $37,000 in utility costs per year.”
