CMEEC ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP TRANSITION: NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

December 4, 2019

Norwich, CT- The Board of Directors of the Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative (“CMEEC”) announced today that David Meisinger has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of CMEEC.

The incoming CMEEC Board Chairperson Kevin Barber stated: “With the Board’s decision to hire David Meisinger, the recent election of a new slate of officers for the Board, coupled with the measures taken by the CMEEC Board over the last two years, CMEEC has taken decisive actions to move CMEEC forward in continuing its mission to provide its members and their ratepayers with reliable, low-cost electric service. I would also like to take this opportunity on behalf of the CMEEC Board to thank Interim CEO & CFO Mike Lane who kept a steady hand on CMEEC during the previous year and who helped rebuild the brand and regain the trust of the communities and ratepayers CMEEC serves.

Incoming Chief Executive Officer David Meisinger added that “I am very excited to be joining the CMEEC team. I believe CMEEC has a great business model and a talented management team that uniquely positions it to capitalize on the cooperative model and the changing energy environment. As the industry evolves, I believe CMEEC is more than ready to provide cost effective and timely electric products and services to its member municipal utilities and their customers.”

Mr. Meisinger was selected for the position after CMEEC conducted a nationwide search. It is anticipated that Mr. Meisinger will relocate to eastern Connecticut from Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he has been living while consulting in the energy industry. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Power Supply and Regulatory Affairs at EnergyUnited Electric Membership Corporation in Statesville, North Carolina. He is expected to begin his duties at CMEEC in early January.
